Aimed at helping raise public awareness on autism, this year also we conducted a walkathon at Aspire Park on 13th April 2018. Hundreds of residents including children, parents, various school students, teachers, special needs associations, professionals, senior officials and representatives of various government and non-governmental organizations, educators, parents, and athletes participated in the walkathon.
The Walkathon officially started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by all the VIP’s who attended the event.
The participants who crowded the park hold banners and placards with messages saying, “We support children with autism and love them,” “Autism is not a hereditary disease,” “Autism is not a contagious disease,” “I love someone with autism,” and “We all co-operate to support people with autism,” etc.
There was a blue balloon release ceremony to mark the end of walkathon program.
Many fun activities for the children including face painting, basketball, photobooth, colouring was arranged.
