Qatar Institute for Speech and Hearing (QISH)

Get To Know About Us

QISH aims to enhance the wellbeing of special needs people living in Qatar. It is a platform that provides an understanding into various issues faced by children and adults with special needs, hearing loss, speech difficulties, psychological disorders, and physical disability.

The Qatar Institute for Speech and Hearing has been Mr. Niyas Kavungal’s dream project, an Indian national who is an Audiology Engineer by profession and has been working in the field of rehabilitation for the past 10 years. His vision was made realistic by the few likeminded expats who provided financial support to start this one of its kind Institute in the State of Qatar.

Initially, Speech Therapy and Audiology were the two services offered by QISH. A demand for more specialized therapies increased and QISH grew into a multi-disciplinary center offering Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Psychology, Special education, Audiology, Speech therapy and a pre-school for special needs children.

Over the years, QISH has become the one and only multi-disciplinary medical Centre in the State of Qatar registered under the Ministry of Public Health.
